Is your character walking on their own?
Is your aim pulling to one side, or is a button sticking? Stick drift is the most common controller failure we see at Level 2 Repair. One in five Canadian gamers deals with it. Most people put up with it or buy a new controller every year. You don't have to. We repair PlayStation DualSense and DualShock and Xbox controllers at our Burlington location, for gamers across Burlington, Oakville and Hamilton.
Why controllers drift
Standard thumbsticks read your movement with a carbon track and a metal wiper that rub together. Every hour of play wears that track down. Eventually the controller reports movement you aren't making. A new stock controller uses the same parts, so it will drift again.
Our fix: Hall Effect / TMR joystick upgrades
Instead of swapping in another wear-prone stick, we can install Hall Effect or TMR magnetic joysticks. They sense movement with magnets, so there is nothing rubbing together to wear out. They feel the same in your hands, and they fix the symptoms of stick drift permanently.

FAQ
Can stick drift be fixed permanently? Yes. Replacing the worn sticks with Hall Effect or TMR magnetic joysticks removes the contact wear that causes drift. Standard replacement sticks will eventually drift again.
Is repairing cheaper than buying a new controller? Usually, yes. Repairs are $25 for one stick, $30 for both, or $40 with a Hall Effect upgrade, less than a new controller that uses the same drift-prone sticks.
Do you fix DualSense Edge controllers? Yes, we repair DualSense Edge stick drift and other faults. Fill out a free estimate form and we'll confirm the price for your controller.
Is there a warranty? Yes, every controller repair includes a 1-year warranty on parts and labour. If the same issue comes back, we'll make it right.
