Steam Deck Joystick Drift Repair
Your character walks on their own. The camera slowly pans when you're not touching anything. Menus scroll by themselves. That's joystick drift, and it's the most common problem we see on the Steam Deck. Level 2 Repair replaces drifting Steam Deck joysticks at our Burlington location for gamers across Burlington, Oakville and Hamilton.
Signs of Steam Deck stick drift
-
Your character or camera moves when the stick is centred
-
The stick feels loose, gritty or doesn't spring back to centre
-
Aim jumps or overshoots in shooters
-
Recalibrating in Steam settings helps for a day, then the drift comes back
Why Steam Deck joysticks drift
A thumbstick reads your movement with sensors that wear with every hour of play. Dust and debris get in around the stick, and the parts inside wear down until the Deck reports movement you aren't making. Calibration and deadzone tweaks can hide it for a while, but they don't fix the worn part.
What we do
We open your Deck, replace the drifting joystick module, then test the sticks, buttons, triggers and trackpads before you pick it up. We work on both the Steam Deck LCD and Steam Deck OLED.
Your games and data stay put
A joystick replacement doesn't touch your storage, so your games, saves and settings stay exactly as they were. We don't need your Steam password.

FAQ
Every Steam Deck repair includes our 1-year warranty on parts and labour.
How much does Steam Deck joystick replacement cost? It's $49 per stick, with no diagnostic fee. Every repair includes a 1-year warranty on parts and labour.
Can't I just recalibrate the stick? Recalibrating or raising the deadzone can hide mild drift for a while, but it doesn't fix the worn part. If the drift keeps coming back, the joystick needs replacing.
Do you repair the Steam Deck OLED? Yes, we replace joysticks on both the Steam Deck LCD and Steam Deck OLED.
Will I lose my games? No. A joystick replacement doesn't touch your storage, so your games and saves stay installed.
