Stick Drift Repair for Hamilton & Oakville Gamers: Fix Your PS5 or Xbox Controller First
Updated: 21 hours ago
PlayStation just showed off a see-through DualSense. If your stick is drifting, it's tempting to treat that as your excuse to replace it. If you're looking for controller repair in Hamilton or Oakville, do the math first. Our shop is in Burlington, right between the two, and a drift repair costs a fraction of a new controller. See our PS5 repair and Xbox repair pages for everything else we fix.
What PlayStation announced: the Prism Collection
On October 28, PlayStation announced the Prism Collection on the PlayStation Blog. It includes see-through DualSense controllers and matching PS5 console covers.
Colours: Flare Orange, Emerald Green and Graphite Gray
Price: US$84.99 recommended retail price for the controller
Canadian price: not announced, and no Canadian retailer confirmed yet
Pre-orders: November 10, 2026, starting at 10am local time where available
Launch: starting February 4, 2027, though PlayStation says dates may vary by region
It's a good-looking controller. No argument there.
A new controller is a style choice, not a drift fix
PlayStation hasn't said anything about different sticks inside the Prism models. Unless that changes, expect the same kind of stick parts that wear over time, so buying one to escape drift just resets the clock. Want the new look? Go for it. Just want your aim to stop creeping? A repair gets you there for less.
Not sure your stick is drifting? Test your controller with our free drift check first.
Repair vs. replace: the math
Here's what we charge for controller repair on PS5 DualSense and Xbox controllers:
One stick: $25
Both sticks: $30
Hall effect upgrade: $40, built to resist drift
And here's what a replacement costs at Best Buy Canada (CAD, before tax):
Standard DualSense: $94.99
Limited edition DualSense: $109.99
DualSense Edge: $269.99
Xbox Wireless Controller, X25 Special Edition: $99.99
Even the Hall effect upgrade costs less than half of a standard DualSense. The Prism controller doesn't have a Canadian price yet, so we can't tell you what it'll cost here.
PS5 controller repair for Oakville players
We fix standard DualSense controllers, and we work on the DualSense Edge too. If your Edge is drifting, bring it in and we'll take a look on the bench. Coming from Oakville? Burlington is just down the road.
Xbox controller repair for Oakville and Hamilton
Xbox controllers get the same pricing: $25 for one stick, $30 for both, or $40 for a Hall effect stick upgrade. If you've been searching for stick drift repair in Hamilton, that covers both PS5 and Xbox.
Why the Hall effect upgrade makes sense
Standard sticks read position through parts that physically rub together, and those wear down. Hall effect sticks use magnets instead, so they're built to resist drift. If you're looking for a Hall effect stick upgrade in Burlington, it's $40.

While you're here: the $99 deep clean
GTA VI launches November 19, 2026. If your console runs loud or hot, our $99 deep clean replaces the thermal material: liquid metal on PS5 and thermal paste on Xbox. Ask about it when you drop off your controller.
