GTA VI Launches November 19, 2026: Get Your PS5 or Xbox Launch-Ready
Updated: 21 hours ago
GTA VI drops November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Digital pre-load opens a week earlier, on November 12, 2026.
So now's the time to deal with the stuff you've been putting up with. The fan that roars. The disc that won't read. The picture that cuts out. The stick that drifts.
Here's a quick four-point checkup, and where to get PS5 repair or Xbox repair before November gets busy.
What we know about GTA VI so far
Launch date: November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Pre-load: November 12, 2026. The physical edition is a download code in the box, not a disc, and it goes on sale November 12 too, so everyone can pre-load the same day.
Reviews: the embargo reportedly lifts November 18. Rockstar hasn't confirmed it.
File size: nobody knows yet. A 676.7 GB number went viral, but it's a rumour. Trackers guess around 150 to 200 GB, and that's a guess too. Either way, clear some space before pre-load.
Frame rate: trailer breakdowns suggest a 30fps target on consoles. Rockstar hasn't said.
None of that changes what your console needs. A long open-world session is exactly when a tired console starts showing its age.
Serving Oakville and Hamilton: your pre-launch checkup
We're in Burlington, a short drive from Oakville and Hamilton. If you've been searching for console repair in Oakville or console repair in Hamilton, here are the four things to check now. Our service areas page shows everywhere we cover.
1. Loud fans or heat: book a deep clean
Sounds like a jet engine? Hot to the touch? It's usually dust and worn-out thermal material.
Our $99 deep clean clears the dust out of the fan and heatsink and replaces the thermal material. Fresh liquid metal on PS5. Fresh thermal paste on Xbox.
More in our GTA 6 overheating post and on our console overheating repair page. It's the easiest GTA 6 PS5 prep Burlington players can do.

2. Disc drive won't read: PS5 disc drive replacement
Won't read your games or Blu-rays? Grinding or clicking? The drive may need replacing. A broken drive won't stop you playing GTA VI, since the box only has a download code, but you'll still want it for your other discs.
PS5 disc drive replacement: $179 plus tax
Coming from Oakville for PS5 repair? We're a short drive away.
3. No Signal or a black screen: check the HDMI port
Console powers on but the TV says No Signal? Picture flickers when the cable moves?
Try another cable and another TV first. Same thing everywhere? It's most likely the HDMI port on the console.
HDMI port repair: $99 for PS5 or Xbox
Need Xbox repair in Hamilton for a No Signal console? This is the fix to ask about.

4. Stick drift: fix it, don't replace it
Character walking on their own? Aim creeping? That's stick drift.
Before launch night, test your controller before launch with our free drift check. If it's drifting, we fix standard DualSense and Xbox Wireless controllers:
One stick: $25
Both sticks: $30
Hall Effect upgrade: $40
Hall Effect sticks use magnets instead of a rubbing contact, so they're built to resist drift. See our controller repair page and our stick drift guide.

Repair vs. buying a new console
Here's what a new console costs at Best Buy Canada right now (CAD, before tax and fees):
PS5 Slim 1TB: $819.99
PS5 Pro: $1,099.99
Xbox Series X 1TB: $999.99
Don't buy a new console. A $99 deep clean or HDMI repair keeps the one you've got, with your games, saves and setup exactly where you left them.
FAQ
How much space does GTA 6 need on PS5? Nobody knows yet. Rockstar hasn't published a file size. Trackers guess around 150 to 200 GB, and the viral 676.7 GB number is a rumour. Clear more space than you think you need before the November 12 pre-load.
Should I get my PS5 cleaned before GTA 6? If it's loud, running hot or hasn't been cleaned in a while, yes. Our $99 deep clean includes fresh liquid metal on PS5, so it's ready for long sessions.
Do I need a working disc drive for GTA VI? No. Even the boxed copy is a download code, not a disc. A working drive still matters for your other disc games and movies.
Is Level 2 Repair close to Oakville and Hamilton? Yes. We're at 3114 Rotary Way in Burlington, a short drive from both.
